Once we receive your booking request and information (immediately after you complete your booking), and we send a confirmation fax to the hotel you have chosen. The hotel then enters the data you provided into its own system, and reserves a room for you during the specified dates of your stay.

This e-mail will show your Booking Reference Number, your booking details (room details and rates, arrival and departure dates, etc.), the hotel information, including hotel address and telephone number, booking modification and cancellation instructions, and our contact information should you need further assistance.

Q. How do I pay for the booking I made through BarcelonaUrbanHotel.com?
A. After selecting a hotel on BarcelonaUrbanHotel.com, you will be guided through a simple booking process in which you will be asked to input information, including your credit card details. The hotel requires your credit card details ONLY for the purpose of guaranteeing your reservation. Your credit card will NOT be charged until you have arranged payment when you arrive at the hotel - at this point you may pay by cash or with an alternative credit card accepted by the hotel, if you so choose. Most hotels will require you to select a payment method to cover the balance of your entire stay upon arrival or departure. If you fail to cancel your reservation on time (in accordance with the hotel's cancellation policy) and do not arrive at the hotel, the hotel may charge your credit card with a cancellation fee - generally equal to the cost of the first night of the accommodation.
Q. How do I modify an existing reservation?
A. If you wish to modify an existing reservation, you will need to contact us directly either by phone or e-mail. If you wish to extend your stay or to book additional rooms, we will verify availability with the hotel of your choice and make the respective modifications. We will then send you a new confirmation e-mail detailing all the modifications and showing the new booking information. If the hotel cannot meet your request, we will notify you and suggest a comparable alternative. If you wish to shorten the duration of your stay, this needs to be done according to the hotel's cancellation policy.
If you contact us outside office hours, or if the hotel front desk is closed, we will not be able to immediately inform you whether or not the hotel can meet your request. Nonetheless, we will let you know as soon as possible.

Any cancellations received after the no-charge cancellation period specified in the hotel's policy will be subject to a cancellation fee, usually equivalent to the cost of the first night's stay. Q. What will happen if I do not cancel and do not arrive at the hotel?
A. If you do not cancel and do not arrive at the hotel, a non-arrival fee will be charged against your credit card, usually equivalent to the cost of the first night of your stay.
Q. What kind of credit card details must I supply?
A. We require you to enter the following credit card details on the booking form: entire credit card number, expiration date, and the full name of the credit card holder (the card holder of the credit card used for booking must not necessarily be present upon arrival at the hotel).
Q. Why does the hotel require my credit card details?
A. Hotels follow a standard booking procedure used throughout the world. They require your credit card in order to perform an electronic pre-authorisation to ensure that the credit card is valid and that sufficient funds are available on your account to cover the cost of the first night accommodation charge. The hotel does not charge your credit card at that moment. BarcelonaUrbanHotel.com manages your reservation and sends your credit card details only to the reservation department of the hotel you have booked.
Q. Will the hotel actually charge my credit card at any point?

Upon arrival or departure (depending on the hotel policy) at the booked hotel, you are required to arrange the full payment for your accommodation at the rate you booked on BarcelonaUrbanHotel.com – the payment to the hotel can be made with any credit card accepted by the hotel (not necessarily the one you used to secure your reservation) or with cash. The only circumstances in which your credit card will be charged by the hotel are:

Q. What is the difference between Rack Rates and Discounted Rates?
A. Rack Rates are the “official” hotel rates. Rack rates refer to the rates that hotels offer to guests who approach them directly for room reservations, and they are non-discounted prices. Discounted Rates are rates that are significantly lower than the official or rack rates (sometimes up to 77% lower). All rates published on Barcelonaurbanhotel.com are discounted rates. We can negotiate the lowest possible rates due to the high volume of hotel rooms that are sold through our website.
Q. What is VAT?

Q. Are roll-away beds/cots available?

Q. Can I specify room location or make any other kind of special request?

Q. Can I check-in earlier than the check-in time?
A. This depends on the availability of your hotel. If the room that the hotel has reserved for you is occupied the night before your stay, then it is not possible for you to check in early. This is because your early check-in would then interfere with housekeeping schedule. If you require an early check-in, we recommend that you make a special request when booking, and then contact your hotel directly the night before your arrival to see if your request can be accommodated.
Q. Can I check out later than the check-out time?
A. This also depends on the availability of your room. If your room is booked for guests arriving after you, then you will need to check-out on time to give the housekeepers time to prepare the room for the next guests. You can request a late check-out when booking your room, and your chosen hotel will try their best to accommodate your request.
Q. Can I leave my bags at the hotel?
A. Most hotels have a concierge desk where you can leave your bags before checking-in. If hotels do not have a concierge desk, it may be possible to leave your bags behind the reception desk before your check-in time.
What now?
On your scheduled arrival date, give your information to the hotel reception staff, and mention to them that you booked through BarcelonaUrbanHotel.com. You will be asked to arrange a method of payment, you can then agree to pay at the end of your stay using that credit card or with cash.
